Hi, my name is Melissa and I am Light Occupational Therapy’s first Speech Pathologist! I have a Bachelors of Speech and Language Pathology (Honours) and a Master’s of Science in Speech and Language Sciences from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. I am passionate about supporting children and young people to build their oral and written communication skills, self-confidence and play skills. I have experience working with children with varying communication needs across individual and group sessions in clinics, homes and schools. Having worked in a variety of settings across New Zealand, Australia and most recently, England, I bring a breadth of awareness to fluctuating capacities. I value a collaborative child-centred approach and working alongside families and educations to support a child’s ongoing growth and development.
Outside of work you will find me keeping active outside or in the gym, exploring the Melbourne food scene, or updating the latest pages in my scrapbook.
